In 1981, the Vanda Miss Joaquim was chosen as the National Flower of Singapore for its resilience and year-round blooming quality.

The artist collages and manipulates images photographed at the Singapore Botanic Gardens; to exhibit the ethereal and enthralling qualities of the orchid.

The work examines the nation's drive for beauty, progress and control.
