Nadia has always been a fan of Monet's paint strokes and the sense of calm that his artworks exude. This piece is a reinterpretation of his painting Impression, Sunrise. While Monet's piece depicts a morning at the port of Le Havre, his hometown, Nadia chose an evening scene located in Jimbaran Beach, Bali. Instead of the busy port that Monet portrayed at sunrise with ships over the water, Nadia's showcases people admiring the sunset at the end of the day. She enjoyed recreating his paint strokes in this piece and hopes that it delivers the same calmness that Impression, Sunrise does.
