Singapore Got Hawker by Tess Moh
Singapore Got Hawker by Tess Moh
Based on Grant Wood's American Gothic, this piece aims to celebrate and appreciate Singapore's hawker culture – a fundamental aspect of its national identity. The father-daughter duo depicted here represents the Singaporean commitment to preserve this unifying culture, with the added hope of having it successfully recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.

About The Artist
About The Artist
Tess Moh is a free-spirited person at heart, who enjoys the little things in life. She is currently based in Melbourne, and aspires to be a better illustrator and designer some day. She has won three community-based art competitions in 2010, 2019 and 2020, and these have spurred her to dedicate more time and energy to her craft. Now, when she is not teaching, she finds herself baking in the kitchen, or creating funny comics to the delight of her family and friends.
