Matus Kaewdum (b. 2000, Chiang Mai, Thailand) graduated from the Faculty of Communication Arts at Chulalongkorn University. He began creating collage artworks in 2020 from an interest in political and social issues, later developing his practice under the name “Cerebrum_art.original,” inspired by the cerebrum — the part of the brain associated with thought, memory, emotion, and perception. Similar to collage art, it reflects the coexistence of diverse and contrasting elements within a unified form.

His works explore spiritual experiences, mythology, and local narratives through the reinterpretation of symbolic imagery and historical references. Matus is particularly interested in how belief systems and collective memories are constructed, transformed, and shaped by social and political contexts.

Although his visual language references traditional aesthetics, his creative process primarily utilises digital collage techniques. Through layered imagery and fragmented compositions, his works reflect the tension between past and present while questioning how inherited beliefs and narratives continue to evolve over time.
