Ennuh was inspired to recreate angels for the modern day and age. In this work, we see a modern day version of Cabanel’s Fallen Angel – a Filipino residing in the Metro. In relating Cabanel's original to the experience of the now 9-month lockdown in the Philippines, the angel's fall is rooted in the human concept of loneliness. He is confined to his home, doomed to mundane routine, alone with nothing but his thoughts. The colour blue in the Philippine flag represents perseverance, but, just how long can one persevere if no action is being taken?

About the Artist

Ennuh Tiu is a Creative Strategist and freelance photographer based in Manila, Philippines. She is an alumna of De La Salle University–Manila where she got introduced to film photography via one of the major subjects. Here, she learned how to shoot, process and print her photos the analog way. It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that she fell in love with the medium, and she has been injecting the use of analog in her work ever since.

Her work has been showcased in 16th edition of the The Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops, in both the alumni curates and projection programmes. She has worked with local brands and international brands such as Dr. Martens for their local campaign–Tough As You. Her work has also appeared in publications such as The Philippine Star (Young Star) and Scout Magazine. She has done various speaking engagements about her work in the previous years both online and in events. Presently, she is a Lomography Brand Ambassador (Lomo Amigo), one of the
partners at Tiny Print Room—a printing studio, and one of the founding members of We Want Film—a non- profit film photography group based in Manila. She recently released a group zine with 3 other artists, ‘Saturdays Are Not the Same Anymore’, which was selected as one of the zines for showcase on the Bangkok Art Book Fair 2020.
