For the Love of Magritte (1) by Toro Elmar
For the Love of Magritte (1) by Toro Elmar
Magritte is a perennial favourite of the artist; his oeuvre kickstarted Toro's interest in philosophical concepts like existentialism, influencing the exploration of surrealism and absurdism in his own practice.
This work is a reimagination of Magritte's A Friend of Order. Toro uses the interplay between positive and negative space to posit a reality where Magritte made work in lush tropical climates instead of breezy maritime weather.
