This piece is rooted in a personal story. For a period of time, the artist met someone who became very important to her. He once told her how much he loved fishing, and that memory stayed with her. As time passed, they drifted apart and are no longer as close as they once were. She came to realise that she was still the one holding on to those feelings. In this piece, the fish symbolises the emotions she continues to carry—feelings she is not quite sure how to let go of or what to do with. Meanwhile, the figure in the background represents the other person, who has already moved on.
